Britain Really Has Got Talent
It’s official: Britain really has got talent thanks to an exceptionally skilled team of 26 young people who have spent the last four days competing at the skills equivalent of the Olympics – the WorldSkills Competition in Calgary, Canada.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has unveiled Reiss Evans (Canterbury College student) winning design from a national competition to design the London 2012 Olympic Education Logo.

On the Road to London 2012 – An Enterprising Story
In April 2009 Whitcliffe Mount Business and Enterprise College won £5,000 from the Get Set London 2012 Education team. They did this by submitting an application that outlined how they would spend £5,000 to promote London 2012 in an enterprising way.

Cultural Olympiad Website - Now Live
A new website dedicated to Yorkshire's contribution to the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme has been launched. The website features activities involved through the Inspire Programme and a series of major projects driven by the signature programme imove of which there are 8 Yorkshire projects shortlisted.

York and North Yorkshire Cultural Conference
The York and North Yorkshire Cultural Conference takes place on the 1st October 2009. As part of Charles Allen's - Chair of LOCOG's Nations and Regions Group - visit to Yorkshire delegates will be able to hear Charles speaking at the event alongside Gary Verity from Welcome to Yorkshire and Chris Monks, Artistic Director at the Stephen Joseph Theatre and others, as the conference celebrates York and North Yorkshire's culture. The York and North Yorkshire cultural partnership will also be unveiling the refreshed York and North Yorkshire cultural strategy and are keen to have your input. Volunteering in Yorkshire and Humber and Sport and Voluntary Sector
Consultation Event - Monday 26th October 2009 at York CVS, Priory Street York. This all day event will be extremely useful and will provide an excellent opportunity to start networking with voluntary sector partners. The morning will have a particular focus on Volunteering in Yorkshire and Humber, whereas the afternoon will focus on Sport and the Voluntary Sector. The afternoon will be led by NAVCA, Yorkshire and Humber Regional Forum, Sport England and Local Government Yorkshire and Humber. The afternoon event is an information and networking event. Come and find out more about the Voluntary Sector and sport. Session One: Workshops focusing creating the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Legacy.
