Barnsley and Newham Kids Have Got What it Takes to Get Enterprising
Forty children aged 11 to 14 from schools in Barnsley and Newham came together at Pond’s Forge in Sheffield on Tuesday 10th of November to be the first young people in the country to trial a brand new enterprise challenge.

In September 2009, 18 schools and colleges across the country were named as the founding members of the 2012 Get Set Network. Wakefield College is proud to be the first Further Education College in Yorkshire and the Humber to be included in the Network’s inaugural membership.

UK Skills have now opened applications for organisations to apply to become national ‘Accredited Host Centres’ for competitions running in 2011. Competition hosts are normally voluntary and are not paid for the use of their facilities.

3rd December: 1,000 days Until the Paralympic Games
The 3rd of December 2009 will mark 1,000 days until the start of the Paralympic Games in London. There will be a range of activities and events to mark this special occasion in Yorkshire just before, during and after the day itself with a week-long celebration including training, volunteering, talent identification and competitions.
