Team UK Announced for WorldSkills 2009
It was announced on the 30th of June at an event held at the House of Lords, that 26 young men and women from across the country – including two from Yorkshire and the Humber - have been chosen as members of Team UK.

120 young people in Year 9 and 25 teachers at Brigshaw High School and Language College in Castleford were involved in an inspirational ‘Enterprise for London 2012’ workshop on the 4th of June.

Young people from across North Yorkshire took to the track, the pool and the pitch in a celebration of sporting talent on Sunday 28th June at the Leeds Trinity North Yorkshire Youth Games.

Free online training for volunteers supporting disabled participants
It is essential that more disabled people have the opportunity to participate in sport or physical activity. Clubs providing well trained volunteers will help increase that participation rate. The Advocacy & Activity Buddy Scheme (AABS) has developed a toolkit to facilitate the introduction and training of volunteers.

SEE for the 2012 Games Network Survey – 10th July Deadline
We would be most grateful if you would complete the SEE for the 2012 Games Network survey to help us understand whether it is meeting your needs and whether you wish to get more involved or get more information about specific working groups, events and activities that the Network is focusing on during 2009 and 2010 in Yorkshire and the Humber. Responses received before 10th July will be entered into a draw for £50 to a charity of your choice or retail vouchers for yourself as preferred.
