To mark the launch of new resources in the enterprise strand, the Get Set team is coming to Yorkshire and the Humber!  They are inviting schools to take part in a special Get Set Get Enterprising workshop, which is running in conjunction with BP.

Get Enterprising has been working with Yorkshire Gold and the SEE for the 2012 Games Network to identify at least six schools who will put forward a team of up to 30 young people aged 14 to 15 years to participate in the BP Trading Challenge. This is a high-impact real-life Maths roadshow workshop featuring learning in a simulated oil-trading environment, analysing and reacting to market news, and managing budgets in a fast-paced format. The goal is for students to apply their Maths and Enterprise skills to make a virtual profit, as well as to work effectively as a team.  The winning school will also win a visit from an athlete!

The Get Set Get Enterprising workshop has been designed to develop enterprise skills in young people, whilst providing information and support for educators on the resources in Get Enterprising.

Whilst pupils are participating in the challenge the Get Set team will work with the schools’ enterprise leads to tell them more about Get Set’s fantastic resources.

The workshop is scheduled to take place on the 30th of June and we wish all the participating schools the best of luck at this exciting enterprise education challenge event.
