Staff and students at YSJ

York St John University is inspired by the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, and is putting in place a number of activities and events linked to the promotion of health and wellbeing.

Wednesday 28 April saw the return of York St John University’s annual Wellbeing Day. This hugely successful event allowed staff and students to maximise their wellbeing through a range of activities throughout the day. Those on offer included relaxation, yoga, massage, sampling healthy food, salsa dancing, cheerleading, a climbing wall and comedy shows. Sports instructors from YSJ Active were also on hand to give staff and students a health check and advise them on the best way to get in shape and stay that way.

Emma Wilkins, Director of HR at York St John, said: “York St John places great importance on providing a positive working and learning experience for all our staff and students and their physical and mental wellbeing is one of our key priorities. Wellbeing Day not only reinforces this, but also gives staff and students the opportunity to get away from their desk to have some fun and try something new!”
