Opportunity 2012 graduates will be offered rewards such as shadowing international fitness coaches and team physios, watching Olympic athletes in training and sought after work placements with LOCOG. Up to 500 14-19 year olds from existing schemes will be involved, including those from York’s ‘Youth Community Action’ pilot initiative (click here for more information).
To mark the launch of new resources in the enterprise strand, the Get Set team is coming to Yorkshire and the Humber! They are inviting schools to take part in a special Get Set Get Enterprising workshop, which is running in conjunction with BP.
School children from across Sheffield recently took part in a 'Language Sports Day' at the English Institute of Sport. The event, organised by Sheffield Hallam University saw schoolchildren compete in sporting competitions using a second language to help prepare them for the business world. The winners also got the opportunity to meet their own Olympic idol, diver Leon Taylor, at the event.
